Making money via redlights
Posted by: Ophelia
I was just reading this on yahoo where a few cities are manipulating the red lights- Ouch- This apparently boosts ticket revenues because it gives drivers alot less time to stop. Now that just isn’t right- I wonder if this has ever happened to me and if it did- How would I even know? Is it legal to do something like this? One city apparently was forced to repay $8,800 it collected in fees. WOW!! What do you think about this?

I knew it! Some of those red lights drive me crazy, especially when they don’t change to green for what seems like an eternity. Luckily, I haven’t been caught yet. Not for running a red that is
Now if I could just get my money back for the parking tickets. Talk about another evil business based that extorts people out of their money and does more harm than good. I’m glad the city got busted for manipulating the lights. Do you have a link to the original article?

Supposedly, federal law requires yellow lights to be 1 second for every 10 miles of the speed limit… then again, in NYC they found that a few of the red light cams had shorter yellow lights than the rest of the city. I think the most infamous one was the now removed 72nd and Amsterdam. *sigh*
